Attended a Gala Musical evening at the Music Academy on the 19th of Nov'2012 which celebrated some of the greatest hits of India's superstar Rajesh Khanna from the bygone era. It was an event which was part of "The Hindu"November Fest" and evoked nostalgic reactions amongst many who witnessed the concert. The performers of the event were Srinivas Doraisamy (Captain) , Naresh Iyer , Swetha Mohan , Saptaparna Chakraborty and a wonderful orchestra led by Mani Bass. There was also a cameo by Haricharan. Test Cricket never ceases to Amaze
Test Cricket never ceases to amaze me ..This year 2012 itself has witnessed some landmark achievements never happened before in the 135 yr history of the game..
1) Tino Best of WI scoring 95 vs Eng , the highest ever score by a No.11 Batsman. (No No.11 Batsman has yet made a century in the 135 illustrious years of Test Cricket)
2) Abul Hasan of Bangladesh scoring a hundred on Debut against the Windies playing at No.10, only 2nd player ever to have done it on Debut. (Only 4 players in the annals of Test Cricket have even managed to score a hundred batting at No.10)
3) Chris Gayle becoming the first player to hit a Six off the very first ball of a Test Match.
4) Michael Clarke (Aus) becoming the only player to crack 4 Double Centuries in a single Calendar year. (Bradman and Ponting have scored 3 in a year)
5) Alastair Cook garnering 4 successive hundreds in all 4 matches that he has captained so far. (No Captain has even scored 3 hundreds before in their first 3 tests as skipper)
